Hey Josh,

As soon as my Lil' Miss "G" learned how to walk and talk more clearly, this is what she loved to do! She would say "bye" and then claim that she was hiding in her new home.

Walking and talking is a WONDERFUL stage and even till this day, I love every minute of it!

Just a little something to show you, a glimpse of the fun things our little one's do when they start adventuring around the house!

I remember that when Gabi was 10 months old, we had to travel to Vegas for one of my brother's weddings. And when we went out there, Gabi ate all of her cheerios!!!!!!!!!!

We were doomed. This once peaceful little girl would soon turn into a little incredible hulk without her cheerios to munch on!

My cousin John said that he would go to the convenient store and pick up a box...what was only a few minutes turned into an hour, then another hour and another.

My mom and I were wondering what had ever happened to him. How hard could it be for him to find a box of cheerios?

Finally John had returned, three hours later of walking around the whole strip of Vegas which you do know, is miles and miles and more miles! He finally found a CVS pharmacy and bought a huge box of cheerios for the little one's piece of mind.

I would say give them to either the mother's homeless shelters, to organizations where the children need them or even see if the military child care can use the books? Other wise I am holding onto mine till someone needs them...another single parent or to a new family that can't afford such items.

My daughter is only 4 and I know that even when she is 40 years old, I too will be so proud of her and honored to be her mom...a love for a child is a powerful and amazing thing!

Oh, by the way miss M...that is gabi:) When we were living in San Diego

Money is not everything. Even before College it was difficlut.
I agree that love cannot replace any amount of money!!!!
Know matter how old my kids are I will be proud of them
no matter how many mistakes they make. At times I
wish I had another hand because I get so exhausted that
I just want to sleep for days. But I guess I am running
an Energizer Batteies.lol.....

Yes it is!

Granted she is not in college but I am still scrounging every penny I have for preschool-chid care to have her be prepared for Kindergartend and then school which will eventually lead to college! Or so I hope.

Being a single parent is freaking tough! And working full time, yeah, that can so very difficult and hard on the soul at times but luckily, if you are a good parent, then the love for the child and too see them grow and be full of life, that is your reason for trucking on.

And no matter how old your children will be, they will always be your children!

I am the youngest of 4, 28 years old and my mother, still helps us out and worries for us...we are still her babies! And she was the one who raised us.

She became a single parent of 4 after my father left her after 20 years of marriage. My mother is my role model, she is the one I look up to and admire.

A strong woman, so much love and support and non judgemental though she can be the velvet hammer when she needs to be...even to this day.

The bestt thing, is that she is proud of me and the mother that I am to my little one, her granddaughter.

My daughter is my life. And I am so proud of her and she is only 4!

My kids are not toddlers any more but any advice can contribute
please do so. For me its College funding know and at times its
difficult when you do it as a single parent....But at the end,
you may be broke and counting every penny you have----
Its so rewarding knowing you did something right in your life!!
its very rewardin

Ah, I remember those days! Still have them today, lol!

Gabriela takes two hour naps and I have to have her take them early or she is up all night! Not a good thing. She is supposed to be in bed by 7 but because I don't get home then, she is in bed no later than 8:30 pm so that we can get up early in the morning.

It is good to get them on a pattern at the young age if possible so that it helps with their structure for when they start child care or preschool.

I remember when she was two years old, I tried putting her in her own crib which did work for a few days and then what do you know, she became the great Houdini! Escaping and climbing out. She WAILED and CRIED each time, it was long hours of listening to her cry and scream each time I put her back, and it did break my heart but I had to stay firm, I had to teach her that she can't always sleep with my by my side, I also was told not say a word as they say "try not to acknowledge them verbally because it shows them that they are winning:"...so I kept putting her in every now and then telling her "no" and after 3 nights of doing this, it finally worked! I think it was rougher on me then it was on her. But it was well worth it. Now at 4 she has no problems sleeping on her own, in her own bed and I don't have a foot up my nose! She is still perfectly normal. She is not dramatized, she just didn't like the change but then who does like change?

Be strong! You can do it!

what a great idea for a group! nice thinking marisol. i'll definitely be checking in with this group! lol

right now megan (wife) and i are trying to change little logan's sleep patterns. been working hard at it and took me a while to realize he is over-tired and that's why he doesn't sleep. didn't make sense to me until we started making him take naps, and now try putting him down for the night around 7:30 instead of 9 or 10. he just wanted to stay up all the time. but now he's actually doing more than a 1-2 hour stretch of sleep at a time. we're hoping for another 5 hour stretch tonite! lol, slow and painful process, but it's working!

New GI Bill Incentives to Guard/Reserve Veterans!

Saw this on the news last night. I say it's about time. They've earned it. President Bush just signed into law the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. It allows for all guardsman & reservists who have served at least 90 days on active duty since 9/11, entitlement to better GI Bill tuition assistance. The more time served on active duty, the more tuition the government will pay. For more info on this Act, you can check out the Fact Sheet… Continue

Not Your Typical Job...and I love it!

As the tourist season starts, the days are long, usually hot and humid and occassionally rainy which is never fun to drive in. The windows fog up, people are sticking to the seats if not each other, the few windows that are open, the rain finds it way to come in pounding right ontop of you... People won't get off, others are upset that they can't on but after a ten to twelve hour day, after we go home, we get up the next day, a new day and might possibly do it all over again and again! I have… Continue

Cherrio's, Nemo and Oyster Crackers?

My son is a little over 20 months old. He's into everything! The other day my husband and I were in the living room watching Dylan run around. It was time for his nap and he just wanted no part of it what so ever. As Tim (my husband) channel surfed he stopped on a channel which was showing a lacrosse game. (My family is very big into lacrosse) Well, Dylan stopped what he was doing and sat in his chair. SAT IN HIS CHAIR FOR MORE THAN 2 MINS!!! LOL He loved watching tha game. I kind of stood back… Continue

UPDATE!!! :D

Okay, so here's pretty much what's going on for those of you that are interested. :P I've been busy going through the loads of junk I've accumulated throughout my life. Hahaha. I don't know about you guys, but I'm a pack rat! I like to save boxes of memories and whatnot. I know the Coast Guard provides movers to pack up my stuff, but I like to be more prepared. Since I won't be here when they pick up my stuff, I want them to be able to just get in and get out! I've gone through my clothes and… Continue
