I post on another so-called military site that is full of liberals, leftists and socialists and it's a pleasure to read stuff about people who are honestly proud of their military service and most importantly, their country. And I find that here.
I'm sure if you've read my introduction you know that I'm pretty dang old! Well, I am. When you have a 30yo grandson, along with six others, and 3 great grandkids, you ain't young!
In my AD time I went from the tail end of Korea(altho there was a sort of end to hostilities, it was a pretty uneasy time, still) to about half way of the VN war.
I got out after 12 yrs because of rank in the AF being so hard to get in those days. I heard you had to have 10 yrs TIG for E6. I had about 3. So I weighed 8 more to retire or get out. I got out.
I was just your common everyday airplane mechanic who, as we say, just did his job. Nothing really spectacular.
I didn't fly as a crew member or jump out of them as a PJ or something, I just fixed them for others to fly or jump out of.
I could bore the hell out of you with more, but I won't, but I DO promise to come back more often and read what you guys have done or are doing.
Just checkin' in to see what you've been up to lately. I've been busy keeping up with my now 7-month old baby boy. he's plenty to deal with. lol take care, and drop me a line sometime.
I was just reading your post on the Veterans group and you mentioned about not writting too many posts...I know as a civilian I would love to read what you have to write! Plus, you can never write too many posts!
My favorite high school teacher brought in her best friend who was in Vietnam, he wrote poems about it, he wrote a book called "The Things They Carried" and of course spoke to us about the horrors that haunts him till this very day.
Since then, I have been fascinated to hear what vet's have to say. It's like the are the wise one's and I am the little grasshopper, so please, write!
I hope you do!
Have a nice weekend.
Marisol
Great to have you aboard. And awesome to have another veteran signed up. We want to have members from all eras, so we can share experiences that will help the younger troops. Thank you for your service, and welcome to the TroopSpace family!

It is great to see veterans coming here and joining us! I started TroopSpace to have a venue for the world to see that the U.S. Military is the greatest force for good in the world and share the stories the main stream media passes over.
Let me know if there is anything we can do for you, and welcome to the family!
