WELCOME TO TROOPSPACE!

hey there casey mae! thanks so much for signing up and a big thanks for serving our country! we're thrilled to have you! right now TroopSpace is still a young site, but is quickly growing larger by the day. our core of service members & civilian supporters like yourself is growing faster than i could imagine. you'll find that ALL of our members are HUGE supporters of this nation's military, whether serving on active duty, guard, reserves or civilian supporters. and we're all here to listen, share and meet one another. so don't hesitate to reach out to any of us!

i see you've already made your way to our GROUPS section. don't forget that you can always start your own group too! you can also add photos, videos, start a personal blog...plenty of stuff to get you started.

my name is josh, and i'm the co-founder of this site. ed domain & i created TroopSpace because we both served in the military and wanted to create a website where all service members, family & friends could come together and share with one another and help cast a more POSITIVE light on the reputation of our military.

if you have ANY questions, have technical problems, or need general help with the site please contact me. i'm happy to help. thanks again for signing up, and Welcome to the TroopSpace family!

In IL we pay 100% of your college tuition to any state school. We are giving $20,000 bonuses. We are paying back student loans up to $20,000. We have the G.I.Bill which is $317 a month for every month you are in school. We also have the G.I. Bill kicker which is $200 for every month you are in school if you are join a critical unit. Starting off for 1 weekend of training is right @ $200. In the National Guard you train 1 weekend a month and 2 weeks in the summer. This is after you have completed Basic Training and your Job training. So if you do the math...You could have a retirement from the IL Army National Guard after just working 760 days. Not a bad investment since we pay for all of your education, give you bonuses and most of all you are serving this great nation! Let me know what questions you have and where you are from.

Casey, I don't have much time to write at this time.... However I am a IL Army National Guard Recruiter. I can answer some of your questions that you may have about the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army. I can enlist people into the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army. Let me know what you are interested in.

Hey girl...it is too funny, I just noticed that you asked a few people if you should join the Army or Navy. Just keep in mind that who ever you ask, they will say join their military branch. What the real question is, what do you want, what is that you desire and yes, do you have family, do you have children...I am a mom. I love that my husband is in the Coast Guard because he isn't out on deployments for a year or two year at a time. He is gone 6 months out of 12, we email every day, when he is import, we can web cam or talk for hours on end!

He too, gets to travel, he is crossed trained because the CG do a little bit of everything over the years, he gets to see action because they deal with migrants, drug runners, and anything that is illegal...he can go to Iraq, there are other Coast Guard bases all over the world! For they are the ones that help protect the Navy ships and the US Port Bases around the world! So you see...it depends on what you want. There are pros and cons of every military branch...it also comes down to what you can and cannot handle...what are your strengths...talk to as many people, read a whole lot and again, do what your heart desires!

We are always here for you!

welcome to the troop, well what r u looking for out of the military. do u have kids or a husband. From my experiences i think the army is the best way to go for all around job and education. but if u want to see the world the navy would be the way to go for that. but u get to spend alot of time on ship and that life aint for everyone.

Hello Casey and welcome to the Troop Space family!

I think you will find that this site is very supportive of all our military members, their families and those who are looking to join.

I see that you are interested in either the Navy or Army. I always encourage for those who might want to join in the Navy to also take a look into the Coast Guard. Of course I am biased:) LOl, but on a serious note, there are certain aspects of the Coast Guard that you might want to think about and vise versa with the Navy...I always say check out your options.

Plus being a female, I believe that the CG might have the most women than any other military branches...I could be wrong on that. Just something to think about if that is a concern for you. This is coming from someone who once wanted to join the CG and is trying to go out for the Boston PD.

By the way, my name is Marisol. I am a huge fan and member of this site but I am also one of the admin's here. I help out the two big guys, Josh and Edward with this site.

I look forwarding to chatting with you and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! I am always here for our members!

Take care-

Marisol

WELCOME TO TROOPSPACE!

Hi Casey, thanks for joining us here! I see you may be interested in the military-- you came to the right place. We have two Army recruiters that are members of our site who would be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

I started TroopSpace with my friend Josh to provide a place on the Internet that is pro-military and to help our men and women in uniform with anything they might need. We have active duty troops here, vets, friends and families too!

So feel free to reach out and make some new friends here- our community is great. If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to myself or Josh, or any of our sites' members.

Thanks for sharing pictures, our users' activity is what makes TroopSpace such a great space. Also, feel free to share some video, or even start a blog and tell us what you are thinking and feeling.

WELCOME TO THE TROOPSPACE FAMILY!

New GI Bill Incentives to Guard/Reserve Veterans!

Saw this on the news last night. I say it's about time. They've earned it. President Bush just signed into law the Post-9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. It allows for all guardsman & reservists who have served at least 90 days on active duty since 9/11, entitlement to better GI Bill tuition assistance. The more time served on active duty, the more tuition the government will pay. For more info on this Act, you can check out the Fact Sheet… Continue

Hello, beloved TroopSpace. Lovely, lovely TroopSpace. Oh, how I've neglected you! Hey everybody! Oh, I know it's been quite a while now and I thought I'd make it up with a lovely update! As some of you all know by now, I am finally reunited with Michael! They pulled in one day before his birthday. From what he tells me, it was the greatest birthday ever. Not Your Typical Job...and I love it!

As the tourist season starts, the days are long, usually hot and humid and occassionally rainy which is never fun to drive in. The windows fog up, people are sticking to the seats if not each other, the few windows that are open, the rain finds it way to come in pounding right ontop of you... People won't get off, others are upset that they can't on but after a ten to twelve hour day, after we go home, we get up the next day, a new day and might possibly do it all over again and again! I have… Continue

Cherrio's, Nemo and Oyster Crackers?

My son is a little over 20 months old. He's into everything! The other day my husband and I were in the living room watching Dylan run around. It was time for his nap and he just wanted no part of it what so ever. As Tim (my husband) channel surfed he stopped on a channel which was showing a lacrosse game. (My family is very big into lacrosse) Well, Dylan stopped what he was doing and sat in his chair. SAT IN HIS CHAIR FOR MORE THAN 2 MINS!!! LOL He loved watching tha game. I kind of stood back… Continue

Where have I been...RIP Scott...Former Marine

Hello To All, I just wanted to say sorry for being distant...long hours at work as it is the season for touring! But I sadly, a dear friend of mine, former co-worker passed away. He was in a motorcycle accident, brain damage and broken arms, was in a coma for a week before taken off life support. My dear friend Scott was an aerial gun instructor in the Marine Corpts and he did 2 years in the National Guard. Former trooper, great boss, dear friend, family man...a big tough teddy bear who was a… Continue

UPDATE!!! :D

Okay, so here's pretty much what's going on for those of you that are interested. :P I've been busy going through the loads of junk I've accumulated throughout my life. Hahaha. I don't know about you guys, but I'm a pack rat! I like to save boxes of memories and whatnot. I know the Coast Guard provides movers to pack up my stuff, but I like to be more prepared. Since I won't be here when they pick up my stuff, I want them to be able to just get in and get out! I've gone through my clothes and… Continue
