Current Permanent Duty Station: Arkansas State Commander, Veterans Of Foreign Wars

Currently Deployed? If so, where? (Do not jeopardize Operational Security): I am not currently deployed with the active military. I'm too damn old. I'm living in Stone County, Arkansas

Why I Serve: I enjoy enjoy working and socializing with other veterans and knowing that I am helping our military personal, their famalies and military veterans as a member of the VFW. I also enjoy assisting with Military Honors as a Bugler with the BAA organization and as the
Arkansas State Bugler for our VFW, American Legion and as the National Bugler for the VFW honor degree organization known as the MOC. I have been staying busy in my "so called" retirement.

Hello Mike, It's great to have you here! I think you aqre now our highest ranking VFW member- Arkansas State Commander!! WELCOME!

I started TroopSpace with my close friend Josh Lowe, and we wanted a place on the Net where our Troops and everyone that supports them could come together. With so much negativity in the press (Berkeley, CA for example) we wanted a place where that is left behind and we can focus on the positive!

As you can see, we are growing fast. I launched TroopSpace in December of '07, and we already have 250 members! Josh and I are very excited to see our growth.

Marisol, one of our admins here, is also great. She is the wife of a Coast Guardsman and is a great resource for our members here.

I hope you'll take a look around and see what interests you-- by all means, feel free to create a group- maybe the Arkansas VFW Group? And please invite the VFW to join us here!

If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out to myself or Josh or anyone on TroopSpace- we have a great community here.

hey there mike! thanks for signing up. we're thrilled to have you! always great to have more veterans here on TroopSpace, so you are a welcome addition to the site. and a high ranking VFW officer too! HOOAH. i'm a member of VFW post 454 in out of Bloomington, IL.

don't forget to check out our Groups section. i'm sure the Army group will be of interest to you. if not, feel free to start your own! perhaps a Veterans of Foreign Wars group??? you can also add photos, videos, start a personal blog...lots of stuff to get you started.

I hope you find this site very supportive, helpful but most of all, honest and that we stick together.

It was reading your profile and I love the fact that you are a vet and you are so eager and willing to help out other vets and soldiers. Being a Coast Guardsman Wife, at times I wish we had more people like you that are there to relate to our younger generation soldiers because me, being a civilian, there is only so much and understanding that I can do and give to my husband.

By the way, my name is Marisol. I am not just an admin here that helps out Edward and Josh, but as I wrote above, my love is in the military.

I can't wait to read your experiences and any advice that you might have for us grasshoppers!
